An asbestos survey will highlight the types of asbestos present (if any) and their location within your property.

It is the responsibility of the Duty Holder of non-domestic premises to have an effective asbestos management plan in place, for example; landlords, property owners etc.

The Purpose of an Asbestos Survey is to:

  • Manager asbestos in your premises;
  • Provide accurate information on location, amount and condition of asbestos containing materials (ACMs);
  • Assess the level of damage or deterioration in ACMs and whether remedial action is required;
  • Use the survey information to prepare a record of the location of any asbestos, commonly called an asbestos register and as an asbestos plan of the buildings;
  • Help identify all ACMs to be removed before refurbishment or demolition work.
  • The Different Types of Asbestos Surveys are:

    Management Survey is for locating and managing the presence and condition of any asbestos in your building.

    Refurbishment Survey is a requirement before any refurbishment works in your building.

    Demolition Survey is a requirement before any demolition works in your building.

    Domestic property owners should inform any contractors, builders or maintenance workers of any asbestos materials present in their property prior to the workers undertaking any refurbishment or intrusive works.
